Curiosity

How do we harness the power of wonder?

Field Trip: January 7th, 2021 10-11:30 PT

Workshop: January 20th, 2021 12-1:00 PT

You need only spend a few minutes with a young child to know that we are born with curiosity in spades. But how do we continue to honor and  stoke it? How do we create learning environments that fortify the orientations and skills needed to see wonder and possibility everywhere one looks?

Access to this month’s experiences start at $25.

WORKSHOP (1.20.22)

What does it feel like to unlock a totally new part of your brain? How can we design experiences that offer that opportunity to our young people?

In this workshop, we will get a sneak peek into the mind of a brilliant – and curious – artist and teacher, Kelli Anderson. We’ll learn about satellites, art and paper engineering as she teaches us how to fold flat sheets of paper into origami tessellations. Each participant will receive a kit of these materials to use during the workshop.

This virtual workshop will be led by Kelli Anderson, "an artist, designer, and tinkerer who pushes the limits of ordinary materials and formats by seeking out hidden possibility in the physical and digital world. From wedding invitations to Utopian newspapers, she re-designs commonplace objects to go beyond their ordinary functions and create surprising experiences." (Learn more about Kelli at TED.com or kellianderson.com.)

Participants will receive eight fold-it-yourself RISO-printed posters.
